Please note, if you submitted an abstract for Vocab@Vic2021, we would ask you to resubmit your abstract in the new system. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
At Vocab@Vic 2023, we’d like to explore and discuss avenues of enquiry in vocabulary studies.
The Vocab@Vic 2023 theme is deliberately broad: Applying vocabulary research to practice. We see this theme as a chance to frame vocabulary studies in today's world, to consider where we are now and think about where we are going.
We invite submissions for 20 minute papers (including 5 minutes for questions/responses) and posters.
Submissions should include:
• A title of up to ten (10) words
• A 250 word abstract (excluding references, title, author information, and affiliation)
• Contact details for all speakers, including email address and phone
• Institution or professional affiliation
Don't worry if you do not have the final version of your conference abstract right now. You will be able to login and amend your details right up until the deadline for abstract submission closes in 7th March 2023. After this, your submission will be sent for review for inclusion in the programme.
Evaluation of Proposals
All abstracts will be double blind reviewed. Relevance to the themes of the conference, originality and applicability to the audience are key considerations in the acceptance of all submissions. The committee reserves the right to decline any submission without assigning reasons. All submitters will receive a letter confirming the outcome of their proposal.
Conditions of Submissions
· Each presenter may participate in a maximum of two presentations.
· Presenters who have been accepted must register for the conference and pay by August 7th 2023. Registration will open in April 7th 2023.
· Presenters are required to organise their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
